Initial Consultation
This is an important first step. It is NOT limited by time. There are a number of important objectives:
Get to know the parents
Get to know the pets, their habits and environment
Inspect tags and insure pets have ID's
Know their play and exercise habits
Get detailed instructions about feeding and medication
Review Puppy Sighs Policies
Identify cleaning supplies for "accidents"
Obtain Key and security codes (if applicable)
Get all contact information, including emergency numbers and vet
Determine Local or Extended service area
Identify other time issues which may affect rates
Identify others I may encounter during a visit
Anything you wish to discuss.
Our care for your pets will be personalized and will meet your pets needs. During this visit we'll will make a determination, based on the total number of pets, their "personal habits", and health the amount of time we will require to adequately care for your pets and provide you quote for the amount of time we will need and the fee for our services.

25 to 30-Minute Visit
Focus of My Service
The focus of my services is when-you-are-away pet care.
Daily dog walking is not part of my offering, I just can't make that kind of daily commitment.
I will do one-off visits upon occasion - call for quote.

Vacation Visits
For dogs, I do 3 visits a day during vacation as a minimum
Early AM / Mid-day / Evening
For cats, I do 1 visit a day unless they are on medication requiring more.
I've had the request and will be happy to provide additional time/attention to keep your furkids happy during your absence. We will work out specifics during the Introduction Consultation.
Visit Report
A Visit Report will be left after each visit or each day. I keep a per-visit log for periods of longer than 1 day which is left for the parents with last visit.
Email Visit Reports
When you travel, I'll be happy to keep you up to date with a daily email Visit Report.

Additional Time
Basic rate covers up to 3 dogs or 5 cats.
To propertly care for more we need additional time which is added in 15 minute increments.
Final determination about time requirements will be made at the Initial Consultation as there may be combinations of pets to consider.

Pet Taxi
Trips to the groomer and vet can be problematic for owners on tight schedules, so I offer this service. We want your pet(s) taken care and wish to help make that possible.
I can take your pet(s) to and from the groomer or take them to the vet. You just need to pre-arrange for payment of those service. Groom taxi is intended as short distance centered in Rockaway boro.

Pet Taxi to vet or other destinations:
This service is based on Time and Distance.
1 - It starts with a basic 1/2 hour visit which includes 10 miles total, $20.00
2 - Mileage is calculated at $.25/mile over the initial 10 miles.
3 - Time is calculated as $9.00 per 1/4 hour over the initial 1/2 hour.
Example: A 2 hour vet visit with a total mileage of 35 miles would be:
($20 + (6 * 9.00) + (25 * .25)) = $80.25
If you have some special need, I'll be happy to provide you with an estimate for just
about whatever your need is. I want to be there for your pets.

Key Fee
If you wish to control the key, I'll be happy to schedule a pick-up and return after each visit. There are; however, obvious issues with this. Scheduling is the biggest.
Another is that it limits my ability to be responsive in the event you wish for a visit w/o a few days prior notice.
Keys are secured. We are bonded and insured. It saves you money and allows me to be more responsive for me to have a copy.
It also gives you a "backup key". For regular clients, I'll gladly "let you in" to your own house should you have a problem at not cost. If such requests somehow become excessive, a key fee charge would apply.

Payment
Payment is due at the beginning of each engagement.
Cash or Check payable to "Puppy Sighs Pet Sitters" - A receipt will be provided.
I don't carry change so if leaving cash, please leave the proper amount.
I recognize that clients may have last minute (short notice) needs which preclude pre-payment. I'll do my best to be accommodating.
Credits
If you come back early from a vacation or business trip, you're NOT going to be charged for visits you don't need. I will be happy to credit you for future visits.
However, if I show up for a visit and you've come home early, you will be charged for that visit.
Returned Checks
Hopefully, this will never happen, but errors do sometimes occur.
Returned Check fee is $25.00.
Cancellations
We hope our client's parents respect us with regards to cancellations. We do reserve the right to charge at least 1 visit for last minute cancellations (less than 6 hours notice)
